Support children’s health in your community!

Nutrition is vital for the mental and physical wellbeing of children. Kids for Healthy Food enables youth to be their best selves by fostering greater knowledge of nutrition, which can support a healthy lifestyle for years to come.

Nutritional education for children can help prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, chronic conditions which are on the rise in the U.S. Yet, this important service is lacking in many American schools and clinics. This project addresses this gap by bringing nutrition education sessions to K-5 children in the San Mateo-Foster City school district.

Kids For Healthy Food aims to increase kids’ confidence in selecting healthy foods through educational presentations and interactive activities. In our sessions, we explain the biology of nutrition, deepening children’s understanding of the role nutrition plays in health and wellbeing. We also provide tips on sustaining a healthy lifestyle from day to day, as our goal is to enable kids to sustain their own healthy lifestyles, and share nutritional knowledge with their communities.
