Enabling kids to be their best selves through nutrition
Nutrition is vital for the mental and physical wellbeing of children. Kids for Healthy Food enables youth to be their best selves by fostering greater knowledge of nutrition, which can support a healthy lifestyle for years to come.
Nutritional education for children can help prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes and heart disease, chronic conditions which are on the rise in the U.S. Yet, this important service is lacking in many American schools and clinics. This project addresses this gap by bringing nutrition education sessions to K-5 children in the San Mateo-Foster City school district.

The goal of each of our sessions is to increase students’ confidence in selecting nutritious foods and deepen understanding of why nutrition is important for health and wellbeing. See our lesson plans below!
“[The] presentation left a lasting impression, and it’s been great to hear students having more conversations about how to select foods to best nourish their bodies.”
